Dr. Perlmutter’s formal education includes Masters degrees in Educational Psychology and Computer Science, and a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. She also received an MBA from New York University’s Executive Program. Jane started her career as an academic psychologist at the and computer science faculty member at the University of Texas in Austin, but spent most of her career in telecommunications at Bell Labs and Bellcore. There she held a variety of positions in human factors, strategic planning and product management. After leaving Bell, Jane spent five years as Regional Vice President of Operations at DeVry University, one of the largest private, for-profit, higher education systems in North America. After spending over twenty-five years in academia and corporate environments Jane founded Gemini Group which provides management consulting services, mainly to higher education and training clients. Jane Perlmutter is a long-term cancer survivor and active research advocate who has been enriched by her involvement in cancer advocacy.
