Karla Ballman, PhD Mayo Clinic Dr. Karla Ballman is the Professor of Biostatistics, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Ballman is the Associate Director of Quantitative Health Services at Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center. She is recognized as an expert in cancer research study design and analysis for clinical trials, translational studies and basic research studies. Dr. Ballman was the group statistician for the American College of Surgeons Oncology Group (ACOSOG), and is currently the lead statistician for the Neuro-Oncology Committee of the Alliance adult cooperative group. During the course of her career, she has contributed to practice changing research and continues to do so. She received her MS and PhD-Operations Research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA. Dr. Ballman is statistician for SARC providing critical input and insight into SARC research.
