Thomas Williams, PhD Senior Operational Psychologist, NASA Tom Williams is an adult chondrosarcoma survivor with extensive experience developing strategic, integrated multidisciplinary research approaches for the Department of Defense and NASA. His efforts have included leading the development of NASA’s Human Research Program’s integrated research plan and implementation strategy to identify and reduce the potential for synergistic impacts of multiple stressors (e.g., radiation effects on CNS, stress from isolation, and altered gravity) impacting astronauts on long-duration space missions. Tom has held numerous leadership positions throughout his career, to include as a health policy analyst at the Pentagon; leading a Congressionally-mandated Demonstration Project; Strategic Planner for both Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the North Atlantic Medical Regional Command; Strategic Leader Development Programs, and as the Principle Investigator for comprehensive executive health and fitness research protocol focused on military senior leaders. He received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Saint Louis University and a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. Tom joined the SARC Board of Directors in May 2024.
