Elsa Keeler
Chondrosarcoma survivor

Elsa Keeler is a retired pediatrician and survivor of dedifferentiated chondrosarcoma. She spent her pediatric career advocating and caring for the health, development and well-being of her patients through primary care and public health.

Since 2019, she has volunteered with Rein In Sarcoma (RIS), a Minnesota-based nonprofit dedicated to increasing awareness, advocacy, and research collaboration towards improving diagnosis and finding a cure for sarcoma cancers. https://www.reininsarcoma.org/

Her work with RIS has included chairing the education committee, authoring and editing education materials about the “red flags” of sarcoma, and mentoring medical and nursing students through the Maudlin Scholar program. Maudlin scholarships are awarded each year to students around the country to support RIS’s goal of educating the medical community and public about sarcoma cancers.

She is also a grateful recipient of RIS’s supportive survivor community.
