Strategic Advances in Sarcoma Science (SASS)
December 9-11, 2025 (rescheduled from October 14-16, 2025)

Natcher Conference Center
National Institutes of Health
Bethesda, Maryland

Conference Characteristics:

Workshop-like, with 130 participants. All participants present research or lead discussions. Main sessions focus on mechanistic science, and breakouts focus on translational and clinical innovation. The first morning (which is called “SASS-y”, i.e. SASS young investigators) is tailored to the 45 trainee and early career participants at SASS.

Conference Deliverables:

  1. Foster advances in sarcoma science and creative therapeutic strategies.
  2. SASS is an annual conference. Breakout groups from last year’s SASS (SASS2024) formed working groups that performed pilot projects, wrote state-of-the-art papers, and organized sarcoma-subtype-specific conferences. This focus on deliverables will continue with the SASS2025 Breakouts.
  3. Mentor and connect early-career sarcoma investigators.
  4. Foster sarcoma science collaborations through interactive main science sessions and poster sessions.

Participants:

Scientists and physician-scientists in sarcoma research. Other key participants represent advocacy, industry, NCI and CTEP leadership, and the FDA.
