Dr. Chen is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Biomedical Informatics and Internal Medicine (Division of Medical Oncology). Dr. Chen focuses in the fields of translational bioinformatics and integrative genomics as applied to sarcoma and other cancers. He is particularly interested in the personalization of medicine through the development of predictive algorithms using “big data” generated from high-throughput genomic techniques. These tools may ultimately assist clinicians in customizing treatment regimens for their patients.
Dr. Chen received his BA from Harvard University and his MD from NJ Medical School. He completed his internal medicine training at Georgetown University and his hematology/oncology training at the University of Chicago. Dr. Chen has also spent a substantial amount of time in the biotechnology industry.
