Several upcoming SARC-sponsored/-run studies will focus on addressing critical treatment needs across multiple sarcoma subtypes, including high-risk soft tissue sarcoma, malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors, and metastatic angiosarcoma.

SARC048: High-Risk Resectable Soft Tissue Sarcoma (STS)
Led by Principal Investigator David Liebner MD, of The Ohio State University, SARC048 is a comparative effectiveness trial evaluating treatment approaches for patients with high-risk, resectable STS, with participation from thirty clinical trial sites across the United States.

SARC049: Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumors (MPNST)
SARC049 is a Phase II trial led by Principal Investigator Vanessa Eulo MD, of the University of Alabama, and co-Principal Investigator Angela Hirbe MD, PhD of Washington University in St. Louis. This study will include four sites in the United States and will focus on patients with MPNST.

SARC050: Metastatic Angiosarcoma
Led by Principal Investigator Edwin Choy MD, PhD of Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute, SARC050 is a Phase II trial targeting four sites in the United States and Canada, focusing on patients with metastatic angiosarcoma.

Through these and our other sponsored initiatives, SARC brings investigators and institutions together to advance and accelerate sarcoma research and expand opportunities for patients to participate in clinical trials. To that end, a sarcoma patient advocate from the SARC Research Advocacy Council is “embedded” into each SARC-sponsored clinical trial partnership with the lead investigators to help bring patient/ survivor perspectives to study design.

Additional information about each of the above trials will be shared as studies progress to launch over the next several months.
