SARC Establishes the Brian Van Tine Early Career Travel Awards December 23, 2025 SARC is pleased to announce the creation of the Brian Van Tine Early Career Travel Awards, established in honor of Dr. Brian Van Tine, MD, PhD, whose career embodied mentorship, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to advancing sarcoma research. Throughout his career, Dr. Van Tine emphasized that meaningful scientific progress occurs when people come together to share data, exchange ideas, and build strong collaborative networks. For early-career clinicians and scientists, attending major scientific meetings can be transformative. Supported by initial start-up funding from an anonymous donor, the awards will assist with travel and lodging expenses for trainees and early-career investigators attending both domestic and international sarcoma-focused meetings. Early funding priorities include: Strategic Advancements in Sarcoma Science (SASS and SASS-y) Sarcoma P31 SARC Semiannual Meetings, held before ASCO and during CTOS Funding AmountUp to $1,000 USD per awardee Application InstructionsApplicants should download the Brain Van Tine Early Career Travel Award Application from the SARC website and email the completed application to sarc@sarctrials.org with the subject line: BVT Early Career. Applications must be submitted at least two months prior to anticipated travel.
