In honor of Dr. Brian Van Tine MD, PhD’s enduring commitment to mentorship, collaboration, and advancing sarcoma research, SARC has established the Brian Van Tine Early Career Travel Awards.

Dr. Van Tine believed deeply that scientific progress depends on bringing people together, sharing data, exchanging ideas, and building meaningful collaborations. Participation in major scientific meetings is often transformative for early career clinicians and scientists, yet financial barriers too often can limit access. These travel awards will help to ensure that they can engage fully with the global sarcoma research community.

With initial start-up funding provided by an anonymous donor, these awards are designed to help defray travel and lodging costs for trainees and early-career investigators participating in domestic and international sarcoma meetings, initially targeting Strategic Advancements in Sarcoma Science (SASS and SASS-y), Sarcoma P31, and our Semiannual Meetings before ASCO and during CTOS.

We urge you to join us in sustaining and growing this effort via your contribution(s), establishing the Brian Van Tine Early Career Travel Awards as a multi-year program. Your support will help memorialize and carry forward Brian’s passion for mentoring and supporting early career investigators. To learn how to make your tax-deductible contribution, please contact sarc@sarctrials.org.

For more information, please contact Drs. Fletcher (jfletcher@bwh.harvard.edu) or Okuno (okuno.scott@mayo.edu), or Mr. Steven Young (SARC president & CEO) at  syoung@sarctrials.org.

Thank you for your consideration.
