Sarcoma was highlighted during 2021 Rare Disease Day at the National Institute for Health (NIH). Dr. Francis Collins, NIH Director noted “We’ve made real progress in these 10 years, first in disease therapeutics [for] conditions like…soft tissue sarcoma [but] there’s much work yet to be done.”

Sarcomas were also highlighted on a panel moderated by Dr. Abby Sandler of the National Cancer Institute, including Sarcoma Coalition members Sara’s Cure (Clear Cell Sarcoma) and the Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation. All panelists discussed the shared challenges of advocating for, and driving progress against, rare cancers.
