Sterling Heights, MI On Saturday, June 28, 2025, Transformation Lab held its inaugural “Sweat Away Sarcoma” charity event, rallying the local fitness community to raise awareness and funds for sarcoma research.

Approximately 65 attendees took on the HYROX challenge, a high-intensity global fitness race that blends endurance and functional strength training. The event attracted athletes, fitness lovers, and community members from across Michigan, united by a shared goal: supporting the fight against sarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer that often goes undetected.

The event successfully raised over $3,500 for SARC (Sarcoma Alliance for Research through Collaboration), a nonprofit organization based in Ann Arbor, MI, dedicated to advancing sarcoma research and treatment.

“This event was about more than just sweat and reps,” said Peyton Ward, personal trainer at Transformation Lab and one of the event’s driving forces. “It was about showing people what’s possible when fitness and purpose come together. I couldn’t be prouder of our community.”

The strong turnout for “Sweat Away Sarcoma” proved that one small gym in mid-Michigan can make a big difference. From the first rep to the last, participants demonstrated that passion, perseverance, and purpose can drive progress in the fight against rare diseases.
